Along a dirt road about 1 ˝ miles from
the Scenic Goldsborough Bay, here you will find the Converted Cocoa
House of Hugh and Shirley McKenna. The Old Cocoa House with its
moveable tray was tastefully converted into a wonderful ten room
bungalow that can comfortably accommodate up to 12 persons.The Cocoa House, situated on a picturesque 50 acre
estate is committed to agro forestry and organic farming. Here you
can an abundance of Citrus, Cocoa, Coffee, Mangoes, Avocadoes,
Pineapples, and Bananas are just a few of the many fruits that
abound on the estate. Many rare flowering shrubs and plants can be
found growing in its natural habitat.
The Nature Trail
A mere 20 minutes walk under a bamboo canopy forest and banana
trees in and out of pretty streams (boots are provided) with
kingfishers and lizards for company and the occasional caiman is the
mystical RAINBOW WATERFALLS.
The RAINBOW FALLS a spectacular 100 metre high fall, was named by
the owner of the estate Hughford McKenna in 1974 (an actual rainbow
appears between November to March). they cascade gently down the
cliff face into a pool. A beautifully peaceful and tranquil place, a
place to unwind have a swim; a world away from the busy Windward
Road.
