The well-defined Nature Trail is rich
with more than 60 species of rare birds.
Exquisitely coloured butterflies render the air a kaleidoscope of patterns as
they swirl through the fragrant flora. The most beautiful flora and fauna
can be found in all their glory along the trail. Banana trees, helicon as and ginger lilies flourish in their natural habitat. Nowhere on the island
is the bamboo more majestic.

A short walk through this well-defined trail under a cascading,
cathedral-like canopy, and you emerge at the site of the tallest, most
breath-taking falls on the island. Even the most cavalier of guests are
captivated. Rainbow Falls was so named
by the pioneer owner of the estate, Hughford McKenna. Visitors are amazed
at the glorious rainbow that is frequently seen dancing in the falls.
Harmless reptiles - non-poisonous snakes, iguanas and lizards abound
throughout the forest. What's that? A sudden splash in the
river? Fear not, it's just a ferocious-looking, but oh-so-friendly denizen
of the preserve - our resident cayman. For the faint-hearted, a tour guide
is provided. |
